When Frieda's ex-lover, Sandy, turns up murdered and his wallet is found in Frieda's flat she becomes the most likely suspect in the crime. Before she can be arrested she goes on the run to search for the real killer. Ruling out her phantom nemesis, Dean Reeve she must find all of Sandy's other ex-lovers and try to find someone with a motive. On the way she lives a much different life than normal in order to hide in plain sight. Amusingly we see her as a nanny, with wild clothes etc. But Frieda is still Frieda. Intelligent, resourceful, meticulous, plain spoken and somehow lovable in spite of her prickliness. With the help of her ever-widening motley crew of intensely loyal friends and colleagues she can't fail, can she? In a new wrinkle, a door is opened at the end of the book that may extend this series beyond the days of the week. I hope so. This is one of my favorite series.
