This is a review on the book Down World, I thought this was an awesome book, a bit odd though. The author did an great job on the main character Marina, her relationship with her brother felt genuine and she would make an awesome detective with the way she picks up on how the Down World works figuring out stuff even the adults missed.
The Down World itself however was super strange, the doorways lead Marina into an adventure grander then her wildest dreams but also makes her realize the fact that we never appreciate what we have and how bad can lead to good. The doors under her school were definitely incredibly confusing at first, but that was probably deliberate so you really get a feel of following along with the main character.
All in all I thought the book was pretty good and I would give it 4.5/5 stars.
