To be honest, I'm definitely no Basketball fan. No way, Jose.... I would've never thought that I'd actually enjoy watching Hoosiers as much as I did. But I did. I sure did. In fact, I even viewed it for a 2nd time. I think that a big part of Hoosiers' appeal is that its story is based (loosely) on actual events that surrounded a real Basketball Championship set back in 1956. This championship involved high school teams in the state of Indiana. It seems that back in the 1950s even high school basketball was taken very, very seriously. To be sure, there were some absolutely exhilarating moments in Hoosiers. I got caught up in a lot of it, myself. I actually found myself cheering for The Hickory Huskers when they finally began to play "real" basketball and beat the pants off of their opponents.... (*Watch video trailer*) *Special Note* - For anyone who's interested in reading the real story that inspired Hoosiers, then check out Greg Guffey's well-researched book called "The Greatest Basketball Story Ever Told". Believe me, it's a worthwhile read and it contains an excellent photo section, showcasing the real team that made Indiana Basketball History. VPL has a copy.
