The Ravens is a fantasy novel that follows two girls and their first year in an exclusive sorority of witches. The fights between the main characters seemed a little petty and a little confusing with Scarlet treating Vivi as her worst enemy for most of the story yet for a brief period of time they seemed like best friends. Maybe this is realistic but it was just a little strange for me. There was a nice bit of slice of life in the story, however, some parts felt a bit unnecessary to the story and felt a bit extraneous. It’s quite fast-paced which generally is good but for this story, I feel that having a slower pace and focusing more on the sorority would be more interesting. I’m still a bit confused by the synopsis as the antagonist never really wanted to see the Ravens burn. I would rate this book a ⅗.
