Hollow City

the Second Novel of Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children

I had to drag myself through this one. Of the 396 pages, nearly half are blank, section and chapter headings and copies of old photographs. (Do authors get paid by the page?) Thus, about 200 pages long with LOTS of white space, but it felt much longer as we had long conversations to follow that led nowhere, repeated information, and extensive descriptions of characters in one chapter that led me to expect them to be important--but they disappear. I bought Miss Peregrine for my grandson, but am not going to waste money on this. We seemed to have gone from "different is okay" to "hey, look at this freak show."
