I hadn't seen this movie since it was first released in 1977. I enjoyed it then, and I enjoyed it just as much now. In 2013 it does come across somewhat dated at times, but overall remains an enjoyable movie. This is a great one to turn off the phones, pop in the DVD player, turn on the TV, sit back, popcorn and soda at hand, and watch this fun romantic comedy. Comedian Alvy Singer (Woody Allen) narratives the ups and downs of his on-again off-again relationship with Annie Hall (Diane Keaton). It's clear from the beginning this is not a good match personality-wise. Alvy's a neurotic self-obsessed pseudo intellectual compulsive. He thinks of life as a series of disasters, pain, and misfortunes. His favorite movie is "The Sorrow and the Pity: Alvy believes love in a world like this is "irrational and crazy and absurd"; contrast this to Annie, who subscribes to magical-thinking "close-your-eyes-and-and-all-your-problems-will-go away" fatalism. Annie just "goes with the flow". It can't work. But there are some truly fun times in between.
