Nation of Rebels

Why Counterculture Became Consumer Culture
Dec 06, 2016NFreaderNWPL rated this title 4.5 out of 5 stars
A very useful and generally well-argued polemic against the turn toward cultural politics beginning in the sixties. Some parts are laugh-out-loud funny. Personally I found a few moments where the authors' contrarian itch got the better of them quite off-putting, but it would be a shame to let those blind spots obscure the rest of their argument. (Note: This is the same book as "The Rebel Sell," but with a different title for American audiences.)
