An enjoyable and entertaining movie to watch I hope they make a sequel.

Here’s the thing, I am a Dylan O’Brien stan, so no matter how cheesy or bad this was going to be, I was going to watch it. Though this wasn’t an award-winning film of the year, it is certified fresh by rotten tomatoes, so take that as you will. In Love and Monsters, we enter our world seven years after a monsterpocalypse. The only safe space for humanity is underground, where Joel Dawson has been living with his cohort. Joel can’t help missing and constantly thinking about his pre-apocalypse love Aimee. The only issue is she is stationed at a cohort 80 miles from his underground safe haven. Despite the dangerous monsters that lurk above ground, and Joel’s lack of any self defense skills, he decides to make the 80-mile trek. As you can assume adventure and chaos ensues. Dylan O’Brien plays his classic goofy, clueless boy character that we have all grown to adore (or is that just me). Joel also picks up a wonderful canine sidekick, so DOB and dogs, what’s not to like?! If you are looking for something light, a little sci-fi, a little cheesy, give this one a go and share your thoughts with me!

Quirky but realistic monsters/Bugs. I liked the story and writing was decent. Very enjoyable.

Can we talk about how cute this movie is? The title says it all. This takes place during a post apocalypse gone wrong. While living in communes, everyone is paired up except Dylan O’Brien’s character which inspires him to go on a journey to find the girl he loves. Watched this with my 13 year old. Great feel good movie after the trauma of 2020.

Not bad. The world suffers a major catastrophe, and a young man travels across dangerous lands to re-unite with his teen love. The adventure can be seen as a metaphor for growing up and navigating life in general. The main character has been helicoptered raised and protected, so when he decides to step up and take a chance it's iffy that he's even survive small challenges. Michael Rooker and Ariana Greenblatt are great in their roles as teachers to the greenhorn.

Surprisingly good. Special effects are few but well done. Episode with a robot was quite touching. Acting was good, especially the male lead. Loved the conclusion as well. A hidden gem.

It had some good parts but it was too slow. There were a couple of scenes that I felt were useless and should have been deleted. Just wasn't necessary to the movie, in my opinion.

Interesting tone to the movie, with a mix of comedy and monsters. I couldn't synch to the main character's bumbling yet invincible journey to his crush, though I liked the overall YOLO message of the film. Felt like they were shooting at Zombieland and whiffed. But hey, library borrow!
