This is book #7 in the Under Suspicion series. If you like a good mystery this series hasn't failed me yet. Two thumbs up! 👍👍

Since this is MHC last book, I made myself read it; sadly disappointed in the story, even though Alafair Burke co-wrote it: I LOVE her books. I wouldn't recommend reading it as it took me a long time to get through it.

Laurie Moran and Alex Buckley, along with her son and other family members are off to a weekend to celebrate Alex's birthday and then Laurie and Alex's wedding When Alex's nephew, Johnny, is kidnapped everything is put on hold and Laurie and her team try to find him. Another very good book. I couldn't put it down until the end.

Television producer Laurie Moran and her fiancée, Alex Buckley, the former host of her investigative television show, are just days away from their mid-summer wedding, when things take a dark turn. Alex’s seven-year-old nephew, Johnny, vanishes from the beach. A search party begins and witnesses recall Johnny playing in the water and collecting shells behind the beach shack, but no one remembers seeing him after the morning. As the sun sets, Johnny’s skim board washes up to shore, and everyone realizes that he could be anywhere, even under water. A ticking clock, a sinister stalker, and fresh romance combine in this exhilarating follow

Mary Higgins Clark, you finished well. Your decision to collaborate with Alafair Burke on the "Under Suspicion Series" has given us one more book as part of your legacy. Since I read 'Where Are the Children' I have been a faithful MHC fan. It is so sad to be reading her last work. With all her hallmark touches in place, it seems like she is not really gone. We have an extensive cast of characters, the short staccato chapters, the classic red herrings, and the satisfying finish. Well done, Mary Higgins Clark. Thank you for leaving us behind so many titles that we can read to revisit your genius.
