It should have been a short suspended-animation sleep. But this time Rose wakes up to find her past is long gone— and her future full of peril. Rosalinda Fitzroy has been asleep for sixty-two years when she is woken by a kiss. Locked away in the chemically induced slumber of a stasis tube in a forgotten subbasement, sixteen-year-old Rose slept straight through the Dark Times that killed millions and utterly changed the world she knew. Now, her parents and her first love are long gone, and Rose— hailed upon her awakening as the long-lost heir to an interplanetary empire— is thrust alone into a future in which she is viewed as either a freak or a threat. Desperate to put the past behind her and adapt to her new world, Rose finds herself drawn to the boy who kissed her awake, hoping that he can help her to start fresh. But when a deadly danger jeopardizes her fragile new existence, Rose must face the ghosts of her past with open eyes— or be left without any future at all.

Very interesting, made me think. A dystopian Sleeping Beauty tale: Rose is woken after 62 years in stasis and the world is a very different place. I sped through this book, wanting to know how it all came together. This book is a bit of an anomaly – a stand-alone book, not a series. (submitted by JF)

I didn't really like this book, although it kept me turning pages and wasn't boring, the ending was really disappointing.

Definitely the best twist on Sleeping Beauty I've ever read. It was creatively set in the future, involved a very complicated love story, and was all bound together by this giant mystery of why she was stassed in the first place. Confused? Pick it up and read it! You won't regret it!!

I didn't like it (no offense to all other lovers), but I found it boring. Still if you like the romance, science fiction mid -evil type, then I recommend it.

i loved this book. it was about a futurism sleeping beauty where her parents put her in this glass capsule so she would sleep and be out of their hair. i hope she writes a second book in this series because she leaves it open into the girl finding her brothers and sisters who are also in glass capsules.

A downloaded the audio book version of this and listened to it on my iPod. I loved this book, even though I always hated sleeping bueaty. This made it so much better. It was very sad at different points and I cried about three different times while listening to it. All the charaters were great and I was never quite sure what was going on in their heads. This was the perfect fairy tale with a modern day twist.
