"When Type-A Manhattan lawyer Dannie Cohan is asked this question at the most important interview of her career, she has a meticulously crafted answer at the ready. Later, after nailing her interview and accepting her boyfriend's marriage proposal, Dannie goes to sleep knowing she is right on track to achieve her five-year plan. But when she wakes up, she's suddenly in a different apartment, with a different ring on her finger, and beside a very different man. The television news is on in the background, and she can just make out the scrolling date. It's the same night--December 15--but 2025, five years in the future. After a very intense, shocking hour, Dannie wakes again, at the brink of midnight, back in 2020. She can't shake what has happened. It certainly felt much more than merely a dream, but she isn't the kind of person who believes in visions. That nonsense is only charming coming from free-spirited types, like her lifelong best friend, Bella. Determined to ignore the odd experience, she files it away in the back of her mind. That is, until four-and-a-half years later, when by chance Dannie meets the very same man from her long-ago vision."--Amazon.

I kind of feel like leaving my review at "this is a book," but I won't.
This book definitely reinforced my "not making plans" life style. The writing of the repeated scene (the same dialogue but with different mind sets/context) was done really well. The book does make you think about your feelings/emotions and how you process things. All-in-all I'd give this a solid Okay.

This is a book that I feel like everyone will love, and in that vein, I feel like it was written for me. I knew nothing about it going in, and I think that's right for this novel; let it sweep you away and wreck your emotions.

Love love love this book! The romance part was intertwined cleverly with a deep female friendship. The ending turned out quite different from what I expected!

Beautifully written story about friendship, love and loss. It gave me all the feels and I couldn't put it down till the very end.

I thought this book was going to be a silly light little read when I started it. It sure took a turn! It ended up being really emotional and kind of amazing.

One of the good ones. Well written, engaging characters, excellent insights about life. Much more than just your standard romance novel, which maybe it isn't.

NOT A ROMANCE!!! Get your tissues ready instead and you'll be fine. I really loved it, despite the bait-and-switch.

I kind of hyped myself too much for this book, since I saw that it was one of the top books of 2020 advertised on Goodreads. I found the story filled with romantic cliches after cliches.

I knocked this book out in one evening and was enthralled the entire time. I went in thinking this would be a good, lighthearted story and a break from the current (emotionally heavy) selection of my book club. Little did I know that I would eventually be crying my eyeballs out just the same.
It was an easy read none the less with lovable characters and several twists I wasn't expecting. Not one that I would want to re-visit in the future, but overall a story in which my time was not wasted.

He shakes his head. "You mistake love. You think it has to have a future in order to matter, but it doesn't. It's the only thing that does not need to become at all. It matters only insofar as it exists. Here. Now. Love doesn't require a future."
