I love a Russian spy novel, this isn't nearly as intense as what I'm used to and what I prefer.

I was a quarter of the way through it before I figured out that this was book 2. I do wish I had read the first in the series so I could have gotten to know Finn's character.

A Russian and an American agent vie for the attention of a defected female KGB colonel, herself the key to contact with a highly-placed Russian double agent. Themes of KGB control in Russia and private intelligence companies in USA are interesting. The author actaully manages to make the pace slower, rather than faster towards the end
