"On a cool June morning, Isa Wilde, a resident of the seemingly idyllic coastal village of Salten, is walking her dog along a tidal estuary. Before she can stop him, Isa's dog charges into the water to retrieve what first appears to be a wayward stick-and to her horror, she discovers it's not a stick at all but a human bone. As her three best friends from childhood converge in Salten to comfort a seriously shaken-up Isa, terrifying discoveries are made, and their collective history slowly unravels."--

Great book! A little bit of the plot was tedious and boring. It was sort of predictable....But it was an excellent read and well-written!

One of the most boring books I have ever tried to read. Quit it at half. repetitive, long winded and basically drawn out. A story that could be told on ten pages. Who cares????? Highly over-rated! Who picks these supposed Best Sellers, the publishers??? Please stop pushing stupid books!!!! I am a total book lover, and read extensively, but this is the first time I had to post a comment. I felt that strongly about it.

Another twisty, atmospheric book with an ultra-creepy setting. Ware has a very easy-to-read writing style, with short chapters that keep you reading "just a few more pages". She continues to be one of my new go-to mystery authors.

Not a usual choice of mine. The story was okay, mostly keeping me engaged though at times it did bog down and I just wanted to shout: 'get on with it already'. The last three chapters were a faster pace. This is not a memorable book, just something to past the time.

Found this a bit tedious. I found the characters were not particularly likeable or interesting.

I think I liked this book more than most of the other reviewers, though I do acknowledge it had some weaknesses. The main characters were very unlikeable: cliqueish, mean girls who we all hated in high school. And the premise of the "Lying Game" was silly, and fizzled out early in the story. But the basic story line was interesting: four friends who, as adults, had to face the consequences of an unfortunate decision years ago. And I thought the ending was worth the read!

I liked this book although I acknowledge some weaknesses. The four protagonists were not particularly likable in the earlier chapters. Two of them grew up to be more 'normal', two continued to have 'issues'.

The story was not a psychological thriller. Nonetheless I was surprised at the twist at the end.

Highly over-rated novel by the author. You are better to wait!

Did not like this book at all. It seemed like a mixtures of notes and descriptions all mixed together to make a story. I definitely will not read any more books published by this author.

I normally hate giving such low ratings on books but I feel this time I must. It was hard to follow as she kept jumping past & present & it's not even by chapter like some authors do. When you get to the climax you just kinda think I read that for what??
