'You Don't Want a Unicorn!' reminds me so much of 'We Don’t Eat Our Classmates' by Ryan Higgins. It's hysterically funny in both story line and illustrations, it's a cautionary tale, and it's irresistible!
'You Don't Want a Unicorn!' is the book to take on Dad Reads to the Class Day!

Great book, worth checking it out and reading with your littles. Story and illustrations are pretty good.
(As a bonus, I enjoyed talking about the illustrations with my child and about some of the things that make them amazing, such as: boys can love unicorns too, girls can love dragons too, and biracial families are beautiful too. This book lost a star and a half because my girl asked, "How do you know that it's a boy?" and I said, "You know, you are absolutely right! Girls have short hair too," but then I noticed what I had subliminally already noticed: the boys in this story have no eyelashes. Boys have eyelashes and are beautiful too.)

The illustrations and subject really appealed to my inner six year old. A quick and funny book with pretty unicorn illustrations.

This story reminded me of the "If you give a pig a pancake" series by Laura Numeroff. It was a cute story, but I felt like it was trying to convince me that I should NOT like unicorns and I DO want to like them!!!
