This is a modern retelling of William Shakespeare's "The Tempest". It is wonderful, witty, and excellently written. Margaret Atwood is a fantastic author and R.H. Thomson does an amazing job in what I thought was one of the best audiobooks I've listened to to date. He has an amazing voice and executes the different characters like the professional that he is.

I highly recommend this book - even if you've not read the tempest (like me). Now I have started and finished Shakespeare's classic. If you're even remotely considering this audiobook - click the button and start listening. For ~8 hours of audio, you can't go wrong.

This retelling of a classic shed new insight and made me appreciated her skills even more! I am very impressed as this Tempest is a difficult plot-line to flush out

I haven't read any Margaret Atwood for quite some while, but I did enjoy this audiobook version of an intricate modern take on Shakespeare's 'TheTempest'. It is set around the failure of a professional theatre director at an Ontario festival, and his subsequent success running a literacy and performance programme in a minimum-security prison (and getting some of his own back against those who fired him).

What a fantastic re-imagining of The Tempest. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the #audiobook during many stormy walks. Each of the characters was fully alive in my imagination. Both the television series Slings and Arrows and the Helen Mirren's The Tempest enhanced the story, giving me a sense of the Canadian theatre community and the magical world of Shakespeare's play. Margaret Atwood demonstrates her brilliant shape-shifting abilities again.

Discovering a new-to-me author is a rare treat. I heard an interview with Atwood about her take on Shakespeare's The Tempest and was intrigued. R.H. Thomson's mastery of the many character voices and Atwood's prose had me looking forward to hearing the next installment on my commute. Available in book format as well. Highly recommended.
