The premise of this course is that drawing is the backbone of all of the visual arts, and professor Brody begins with a complete explanation of drawing concepts that apply to any subject matter, e.g., composition, sighting processes, scaling techniques, and methods for linear and tonal development. I can't tell you how many times I skipped ahead only to go back because each lecture builds on the last. I will probably take this course out a few times because I plan to do all the exercises, so that I can fill in the gaps in my drawing knowledge. Did I mention that the course book is over 600 pages. I am drawn to the human figure, portraiture, and anatomy, but for the first time, I am planning to attempt a landscape.
