On what should be the copyright page (the reverse of the title page), it says that "This Dover edition, first published in 1972, is an unabridged republication of the third edition of the work originally publishe by Seeley, Service and Co. Ltd., London, in 1917. The Dover edition is published by special arrangement with Seeley, Service and Co. Ltd."

The book is a lot of text with 56 plates (photos or illustrations references), and 28 diagrams.

I don't know what month, date and year EPL purchased it as there is no library stamp for when the book was added to the catalogue in the back of the book, although probably after 2005.
