From bestselling authors James Rollins and Grant Blackwood, the first installment in an exciting new thriller series based on the Sigma Force novels featuring former Army Ranger Tucker Wayne and his partner, Army working dog Kane, introduced in the New York Times bestseller Bloodline and the e-original story "Tracker."
Former Army Ranger Tucker Wayne and his military working dog Kane are recruited by Sigma Force to extract a Russian pharmaceutical magnate from Siberia. A scientific genius, the drug tycoon holds the biological key to a new weapon system, a danger engineered from the ancient past to terrorize the modern world.
From the frozen steppes of Russia to the sun-blasted savannahs of Africa, Tucker and Kane must piece together a mystery going back to the origins of life on Earth--before the ancient peril can destroy the heartland of America, and with it, all of humankind.

Add a CommentHas action and excitement plus the novelty of a super intelligent war dog. Suitably villainous bad guys and gals and a scary bio-weapon.
However, large chunks of the novel read like sight-seeing road trips or stretched out filler.
Characterization was thin. Not enough for me to continue with the series.
Loved this book!! Fast paced with plenty of twists and turns, I pretty much read it in one sitting.
I really enjoyed it! Much easier to read than Allegiant!
It was okay. At times I felt like I was reading juvenile fiction
Fantasic!
I've Rollins before and liked his work until now. Picked this book up twice to read it and only got through about 1/4 and returned it to the library. Normally I finish what I open but this book just wasn't worth it.
Good read but after the 3rd super escape by the hero and chief villian it wore a little thin.
A warrior and his warrior dog. Who can resist that combination? And this guy can't stay out of trouble. He goes from one crisis to the next. Starts fast, stays fast and finishes fast! A great start to a new series. Looking forward to #2.
