I never read the book because I was too young when it came out. But when I saw this movie on lifetime about 2 years ago I absolutely loved it! It is a very sad story as these kids are locked in the attic for over 2 years, but somehow I still managed to fall in love with this movie,

I loved the girl playing Cathy (Kiernan Shipka, who also plays in mad men) I thought she was great to play such a difficult role at just 13 years old. I loved it so much that I bought the whole series on DVD and I must say the second film (Petals on the wind) was amazing as well.

Five stars! I Absolutely adore this series :) Cant wait to watch movie 3 and 4!

Flowers in the Attic is one of my favourite books growing up. This movie was done well. I found that Heather Graham did an excellent performance in portraying the mother, Corrine.
This movie sets the tone of the eerie and dark lifestyle that the children had to endure while in the attic.
Worth the watch!

This movie tells the story of how selfish and cruel a mother and grandmother can be.
What these children went through because they believed adults damaged them severely. In today's society many are going through this and when you think of sperm banks, how many are running around wedding their own sibling? Food for thought.

I don't often bail on a movie after 30 minutes (although I may fast-forward extensively), but I did this time. I was expecting more from something with Ellen Burstyn. Slow pace, flat acting, cheap production values. Not worth a 90-minute investment.

Probably the worst movie I have seen in the last 20 years. Acting was beyond horrible. Please forget borrowing this...you will thank me.

I felt this remake stayed true to the aspects of the book and enjoyed it. Despite the slow pacing, and at times stiff acting. Overall much of an improvement than the 1987 adaptation, and good cast selection.

Just not good. It's not trashy enough. And the production feels very cheap. It's very much movie of the week television. and Heather Graham seems to be zoning through most of it. Although she looks great.

Meh. It was ok. Changed simple things, which was annoying. Enjoyed the book much more.

Haven't read the book in a couple of years, but the movie appears to be a pretty faithful adaption. Not a bad movie. Was hoping for a bit more scene chewing from Burstyn, but she played the "evil" grandmother with a touch more sympathy than I hoped for.
