A difficult choice must be made and they set off on a journey to see if there is a place at the orphanage for Baraka. This book was amazing! I loved it because even though Muthini only had 2 fingers on his right hand on none on his left he tried to stay strong and not tease other people about having a smaller heart, brain and weaker spirit. I thought it was nice that Gabriel wanted to change Muthini's name because from Muthini which means suffering to Baraka which means blessing because he wanted Muthini to have a future. I definitely recommend reading this book.

I really like this book because many people in this world have 1 finger like this boy and it kind of tells how he is managing his life

This book is about a boy named Muthini, which meant suffering. He was born with deformed hands. He was bad at sports and kids teased him. He was smart and kind. His grandma was too poor to keep him and a man adopted him and changed his name to Baraka, which means blessing. He has a good life here goes to school. I am happy he has a good life.

It was good when the teacher told him to change his to blessing, so people will think about in different way.

This book was really something. It shows us some people have less physically but they are not less mentally. I think what the kind man Gabriel did for Muthini was amazing. Muthini means suffering. Gabriel changes his name to bar aka which means blessing. What happens next .... Read to find out

This book was amazing! It was about a poor family and one of the children named Muthini. Muthini's family consisted of himself, his grandmother and his 8 cousins. Muthini often felt excluded because he had less fingers than most people. Muthini's name meant suffering, the name his mother had given him before she left him. But then everything changes. A kind man named Gabriel changes Muthini's name to Baraka, which means blessing. This book was amazing and heart warming.
