I LOVED the suspense, action, and terrible metaphors! I couldn't put this book down!

I liked the premise, but the author really likes guns. He writes about guns, then he writes some more, then some more, then more, then ... I'm bored with it.

Such an amazing read!
Has everything you need in a good book. I loved the fast paced action packed style.

So much fun! I loved the world-building. It had a lot of twists and turns that I was almost able to predict. Great job with the foreshadowing. The side characters were kind of flat though. I think it would be interesting to reread now that I've read Calamity and know more about the backstories. The main character was dorky and likeable though. You can tell the author was a nerdy guy who loved action movies and cool weapons :P but it was fun. Guys who like action and guns would probably like it (this is coming from a girl with not much interest in guns though so... idk I'm just guessing). I loved how Sanderson handled super-powers and good vs evil. If you're in the mood for deep themes and intricate characters though, you'll won't love it. Read this book later when you want something fun to fly through. Recommend it if you like action, cool world-building, super-powered humans, and/or trying to predict plot twists.

AMAZING!! This is a MUST READ. This book and the next two in the series are possibly the greatest books I have ever read. Once I started reading I could not put it down. The way Sanderson creates his own unique dystopian universe is beyond impressive. Can't wait for the movie!

The story is about a boy named David who meets a group of people called the Reckoners in the apocalypse to fight a band of people called epics who have gotten superpowers for some reason and are corrupting the world. one thing I did like about the book was the fact that the characters were very original. It wasn't my favorite type of book because I am just not the type of person who likes to read about violence in books. Like I don't wanna know if someone's chest explodes, you get me? I am not saying it was a bad book and I totally recommend this book to some of my friends who i know would really like this type of book. I probably won't read the next books. I would recommend this to mostly teenagers (mostly boys I am guessing would like this). Personally, I would give it a 2.5 out of 5 stars.

This book is good if you like superheros or if you just want a good book. I liked this book because it is different than most other superhero stories. It has good comedy, but I found that it can be a bit slow at times.

I thought this book provided a lot of times where you would wonder what would happen next.
Like what will happen to the characters. It made me continue reading more and more. It had a good sense of adventures to keep the readers interested.

This is a great superhero book with a main character who isn't a superhero! Although he is fascinated by them, he is actually working against them because their power has gone to their heads. The people with powers actually aren't heroes at all, they are villains who rule through fear and violence. It is up to the resistance, made up of normal folks, who find and exploit the weaknesses of those with powers. Great idea from a great author and the start to a great series. Read it!

Other: Very very minimal language and sexual content. He is a teen boy, he tells you what he is thinking but it is nothing absolutely terrible
