When vandals deface the Harmony Point sign, the town does indeed seem to become the "arm Pit" of the region. The baseball team hasn't won a game in two seasons and the town itself is falling into disrepair. But when the new postmaster becomes the ball coach, Clay and the rest of the Terriers finally seem to stand a chance of winning a game. Until they overhear a bureaucrat from the city say that the post office will close unless the "numbers" work out. The team begins "Operation Tennis Elbow" - a letter writing campaign designed to generate enough mail to keep the post office - and its postmaster - in town (and coaching their baseball team). And along the way, they learn the power of the pen in effecting positive changes in their community.

I like how they cooperated and tried so hard to save their coach from losing his job. I think this is a really good book.

I really like this book because the plot was really well written. It’s about a baseball team that was losing ALL their games and one day, they got a new coach. Mr. Blackmore was a great help and they were winning all their games! But the Terriers (baseball team) heard that Mr. Blackmore was going to be moving out to the town to the city. But in the end, Blackmore was only moving two blocks away. I recommend this book to grades 4 and 5.

this is one of the best books written because it had a nice story and it is about the team saving the couchfrom going away but he was only moving in front and when the renovation was done he was going to move back. the team did all the work for nothing. the best part is that the team won the finals because stewy made that amazing run for it even though he was a little choppy at running . i hope i get a cake just like the team when we win the soccer tournament but instead of a baseball and baseball gloves i want a soccer ball and soccer gloves on my cake with extra toppings. that is why i love this book
