There are many highly arresting phrases in this book and delightfully surprising expressions too. I lost track of the main plot, but the many subplots were clear enough and it was interesting to listen to. It was rather spooky, since it describes things that could be said to be occurring now, or are going to occur in the near future. The narration is clear with what I at first thought was an overly deep voice, but I adjusted to it, and he was able to put on and switch the various characters voices rather well. It certainly worth re listening to (or reading).

I have to laugh at the other reviews. This is an amazing classic and very well read. What a well imagined world and such diverse and different characters. Truly an amazing vision of things to come. If you love the internet, rogue AIs, razor girls, and a bleak and guady future you should read / listen to this true sci-fi classic.

Once upon a time I really enjoyed Gibson's 2 short stories, Burning Chrome and Johnny Mnemonic, but after his embarrassingly stupid and idiotic NY Times op-ed piece, most incorrectly proclaiming Stuxnet to be the work of a basement newbie [Stuxnet was state-of-the art cracker/command&control&comm/ attackware, costing $20 miilion] I've lost all interest in G.

While the world is vividly imagined, I never engaged with the story nor the characters. At no point did I feel a sense of worry or dread for them, nor did they ever sway my passions. End the end I felt like I was back where I'd started: with no sense of destination nor accomplishment.

I really wanted to like this book. It started out really well, I enjoyed the premise, setting and characters, but about half way through I had a really dificult time staying focused (I guess that was my problem) it got confusing to me as what was going on to who and who the characters were as reality begain to get strange
I had no isues with the quality of the recording or the reader.

There's something hinky about the recording. I do audio so I found this unbearable. So after Gibson dealt with all the things he got wrong, i.e., cell phones and the fall of the Soviet Union, I pulled it from the disk player. That's all, folks.
