Angel Burn is a book by L.A. Weatherly that revolves around Willow, the weird girl that just doesn’t fit in with the standards for a pretty girl at her school. She’s just the girl with “dreadful” clothing choices, strange hobbies and is a psychic, giving readings since she was young. Her life changes when she gives the reading of the most popular girl at her school, Beth. Beth’s life will go downhill from the peculiar thing she has seen, an angel. She can either live a shorter life or listen to Willow, but of course Beth refuses to listen. Angels may seem like good people to some, but that is only the people who have been fed off of who are at risk of a disease, cancer and illness which is called “Angel Burn” but these people only see the beauty of the angels, thinking that the angels are helping them. Beth is convinced that her life will become better and she has no need to continue school, but her life force is only getting drained away, bit-by-bit. Willow decides to go after her to possibly help her change her mind. Of course, it doesn’t go well, because Willow is now wanted dead by the angels! She gets scooped up by a handsome young man named Alex who somehow knows who she is and is trying to tell her that she’s the only ---- in the world? She may be able to defeat the angels, but it's not possible. It can’t be. She’s just Willow, the Queen of weird. This book receives a 5/5 it’s so full of action and it shows different perspectives of the story with lots of interesting happenings.

Pretty good book. The character development (or rather, lack of it) was the only off-putting thing about this story. I thoroughly enjoyed every part of this story except for Willow's personality; in the beginning of the story Willow is introduced as strong, female character. By the end of this story Willow is very much a push-over and lets Alex dictate every action she takes. Other than that it was a fantastic book, and a good piece of literature.

Book 1 of Angel Trilogy, followed by Angel Fire and then Angel Fever. Story of Willow, half human and half angel who is saved by Alex, an angel assassin, from other angels who use humans as food. This was a nice story. I enjoyed the love that sprung up between Alex and Willow, but I will be sad to hear that there will be a love-triangle in the next book. I don't like love triangles. I think Alex and Willow are perfect for each other. I also don't think Willow is too dependent on Alex, - she is only 16 and thrown into a strange, new life of fighting and running - How would you react?

i am a feminist, so i enjoy books of any genre that feature strong women. at the start of this book, willow is an outcast at her local high school. however, she has a talent for fixing up just about any car, and that also makes her "stand out" from the high school crowd. willow also has a secret: she is part angel. then along comes alex, slightly older than her, who lists his profession as an "angel hunter." through a series of events, both have to go on the run. and this is where things get sticky. we start out with a strong girl with smarts. she is not afraid to be on her own, and in fact doesn't mind some time by herself. when alex arrives on the scene, however, all of this .... sadly .... starts to change .... and not for the better! all of a sudden, this capable girl is depending on alex to make the decisions, even for the basic things, like food, clothing, etc. she also is a virgin, and alex is not, so she depends on him to provide her with various romantic experiences. this is a totally ludicrous change in the plot. most girls in the u.s. today are smart, educated, single much longer, have good careers, and do not let some male tell them how high to jump. i am very disappointed in the author's changing willow's core personality in order to have alex always tell her what to do .... bleah!
