Haunting and horrible at times but I couldn't put it down. The child was a compelling character, bad and bold and probably somewhere on the spectrum. I grew very fond of her.

Great read. I enjoyed the story very much. Reminded me a little of The Glass Castle.

I felt anger and frustration that no one took the obviously depressed mother to a psychiatrist but rather kept telling her to pull herself together. This colored what was otherwise a satisfying read.
