The desserts in this book looked so beautiful I couldn't wait to try them. I finally gathered the ingredients for the marzipan, and couldn't help but notice as I made it how EXPENSIVE the recipe was. A whole package of agave powder, half of my almond extract, just about half a jar of coconut oil. Macadamia nuts and cashews (why no almonds in the marzipan?). Then I ended up throwing it out... all I could taste was the oil, and I couldn't stop thinking how bad the dessert must be for me anyway. 1 cup of nuts (good), a bit more sweetener, and almost the same amount of oil. Finally afterwards it occurred to me to wonder why he didn't just use a traditional marzipan recipe... almonds and honey... sounds raw to me!
