What a haunting depressing album.
I loved it!

This is a complex and wonderful masterpiece. Sprawl II will make you want to dance. Funeral slightly edges this one out as my favorite AF album, but this one is still mighty good.

Fantastic. Each song is like a mini musical masterpiece.

I have been a Arcade Fire fan since day one. All of their albums are absolute gold, but this one takes the cake. Every song is so poweful and filled with so many hidden messages. I hope they never stop make music!!

This is one of the best albums I've ever heard! I can say that with confidence because it's so rare to find an album that has excelled in basically every aspect. For starters, the main theme is woven through every song, with variations on a person's relationship with the place they grew up in - an honest reflection of how life changes/has changed. Sometimes the mood is profoundly sad at the loss of familiarity; other times it's upbeat, remembering the good times; there is also an amount of negativity as well. Everything else - lyrics, music, vocals, the tracks sequencing - it all fits together perfectly. I just could not stop listening to it. Highly recommended, especially for those feeling nostalgic or those past their teens.

Great album from track 1 to the end.

This band knows how to write anthemic songs that are both catchy and poignant.

My top album of 2010. Every song is a masterpiece and really hits every part and question of the bubs

So good. Going out to buy it.
Every track is amazing, with lyrics that actually mean something. Should resonate with everyone who had a childhood in the suburbs.

Wasted Hours: "Some cities make you lose your head, endless suburbs stretched out thin and dead."

Half Light II: "Pray to god I won't live to see the death of everything that's wild."

Sprawl II: "Living in the sprawl the dead shopping malls rise like mountains beyond mountains..."

Something alluring around every corner, with shifting moods, peaks and nostalgic lyrics.
