I am a long-time Streisand fan but this album is frankly substandard.
Although there were some great classics on the album such as "If You Go Away" and "Here's That Rainy Day", the arrangements were schmaltzy. Which greatly surprised me because Diana Krall produced the album. I can't imagine Krall using these arrangements on an album of her own.
And to make matters worse, Barbra's voice on this album is not the intense emotional Barbra we've always loved. She doesn't sound sad on the sad songs. All the songs sound the same. It's practically elevator music, I'm sad to say. I have always loved her and have many of her albums but this one just isn't worthy of her.
Borrow it from the library and check it out yourself but my advice is don't buy it.
