How do you know if you've found "the one"? Can you really love the one you're with when you can't forget "the one who got away"?
Emily Giffin, author of the "New York Times" bestselling novels "Something Borrowed," "Something Blue," and "Baby Proof," poses these questions--and many more--with her highly anticipated, thought-provoking new novel "Love the One You're With."
Ellen and Andy's first year of marriage doesn't just "seem" perfect, it is perfect. There is no question how deep their devotion is, and how naturally they bring out the best in each other. But one fateful afternoon, Ellen runs into Leo for the first time in eight years. Leo, the one who brought out the worst in her. Leo, the one who left her heartbroken with no explanation. Leo, the one she could never quite forget. When his reappearance ignites long-dormant emotions, Ellen begins to question whether the life she's living is the one she's meant to live. At once heartbreaking and funny, "Love the One You're With" is a tale of lost loves and found fortunes--and will resonate with anyone who has ever wondered "what if."

I loved this novel. It really truly makes you appreciate the one you're with especially when you need reassurance. Five stars!

The thing I like about Emily Giffin is that she doesn't talk down to her readers. Nor does she assume that everyone who wants to read a light, fun, chick book gives two hoots about what brand of clothing the heroine wears. Her books aren't cerebral by any means, but they're smart.

I'm not a big fiction reader, but when it's about "the one who got away" how can I resist? A lot of this book flies right by me as pure fluff, but some of it just rings so true when Emily compares her easy, sweet smelling husband to the more musky, mysterious ex and all that his allure conjures up for her--and me!

One of the best there is! LOVE this book!

A patron review from the Adult Summer Game: "I always enjoy Emily Giffin's books. This book was a good, light read. It was not my favourite, but I still enjoyed it."

This is an idea that a better writer (such as Alice Munro) would have used as the basis for a short story. Instead it is padded to novel length. Ellen, has to decide between two men and the cities they live in. Her choices are her wealthy patrician husband Andy in Atlanta and sexy commitment-shy ex-boyfriend Leo in New York. Neither Andy nor Leo had any personality to speak of and I came to dislike Ellen thoroughly by the end of the novel. There is a mismatch of the subject headings for this novel - it has nothing to do with missing teenagers or the Internet.

This is only the second Emily Giffin book I've read and I truly enjoyed it. I'm really impressed with her stories.

My favorite book by this author and one of my favorite books I've ever read. A good re-read as well.

A nice, light read. At first, I was mad at Ellen for contemplating cheating on her husband. Then I was mad at Andy and his superficial and snobby family and almost started rooting for Ellen to cheat on him. Craziness. I'd probably read another book by her.
