This movie is charming and cute in so many different ways. The Little family goes to adopt a child from an orphanage and leaves with a mouse named Stuart. Sadly, his new human brother George is not happy and unwilling to accept this new addition to the family. Throughout this movie, Stuart’s charisma overpowers George as they try to get along and become true brothers. Although this movie has a strange plot and concept, it shows the value of family and accepting people who are different. I would rate this movie 3.5/5 stars and recommend it to those dealing with a new addition to the family.

This is a great little movie with lots of heart and stunning artistry. Sadly, the DVD is in the dated letterbox format and chops off a lot of that luscious backdrop. I look forward to the DVD's reissue!

One of the better film remakes of a children's classic: respectful of the original yet distinctively different with its own aesthetic integrity.
