Now, Ned and I admire how well you read. But the story will be ruined if you turn the page right now.
So please don't.
A beautiful pie-making princess is trapped in a tower. Can Sir Wilbur rescue her? And more importantly, can he do it while wearing a tutu? He's going to try! But if you read the story too quickly, Ned won't be able to make the pictures or costumes in time. And happily-ever-after may start to go a bit haywire.
Join Ian Lendler and Whitney Martin for a fairy tale that takes off into hilarious uncharted territory -- all because you won't slow down!

Great, absurd fun. It will make you look at picture books in a different way!

For ages 6-8. Readers be warned! You have to read this story very slowly; otherwise, the illustrator cannot keep up with you and will go haywire.

This book has become a classic in our home. I've now read it to Kindergarten classes up to grade 2, and get laughs every time. Unpredictable and funny...read it to your kids, please!

When the story starts, a pie making Princess is being held captive by her stepfather the King. Every day she makes pies in her tower and waits for a Prince to rescue her. Alas, none can make the grade. But as the pages turn, the reader learns the name of the painter behind the scenes, Ned. Poor Ned cannot keep up! With every page he falls farther behind, forcing him to improvise with fishes instead of horses, tutus instead of armor. Finally the Prince that does arrive learns to live with the shortages that plague the story. And how he slays the evil pretzel and what happens to the Princess is something you will have to turn the pages to find out!
