Deenie's world is rocked when a doctor diagnoses her with scoliosis, explaining Deenie's lifelong struggle with posture. Deenie attempts to handle her back brace with grace and dignity, investing in the ultimate payoff of a corrected spine.

Blume's warmhearted novel sheds light on tween insecurity, puberty, and the desire to fit in.

I wish I knew about this book when I was a kid, dealing with wearing a brace. It helps to read about characters you relate to and you know you aren't alone. Even though my experience was different because of medical advances , so much of what she wrote was the same for me in the 90s. I recommend this to anyone dealing with scoliosis.

I have scoliosis, so I understand what this girl is going through. I'm looking forward to reading this.

I liked what the book was about. However, it wasn't my most favorite book that I ever read but overall it was a pretty good book.

It was a great book that deals with a topic that is not talked about everyday.

I found this book good but not great. I would recommend it to pre-tenn girl because it is about a girl in that age that has a lot of prombles that may be some girl her age can relate to.
