Mr. Cinders and his daughter Ella run a small but successful dress shop. Things change, however, when Mr. Cinders remarries. His new wife and her two daughters make life miserable for Ella, expanding the shop, forcing her to sew day and night, and turning her into a servant in her own home. When Ella is excluded from a family invitation to a grand ball, her fairy godmother steps in to set things right. A delightful retelling of the Cinderella story set in the jazz age, with beautiful illustrations and a surprise ending that will please all ages.
