This picks up where Ports of Call left off and is really just more of the same. It is light reading with Vance's imaginitive plots and trademark verbiage, also reminiscent of P.G. Wodehouse, but lacks the scientific depth now prevalent in fiction. If you do enjoy this, I'd recommend his Dying Earth novels and many classic short stories because this book is not Vance at his best.
