I was disappointed with this book. I suffer from several mental disabilities and had hoped to get some inspiration on Christian things I could try to help me in my battles against anxiety and depression. I did not get any such help. Much of the book was on things Joyce has had happen in her life, or her take on things (for example, the chapter on depression was more on emotional lows - such as those Joyce has experienced - rather than on true clinical depression). This book seemed more like an autobiography at times. Compared to some of her other books (such as The Confident Woman and The Power of Simple Prayer), Managing Your Emotions was a real let-down.
