Great Trek

A Frontier Story

Large Print - 2000
Rate this:
Zane Grey made his first trip to Australia in 1935, and the land and its history worked their magic on him. Although he never crossed its wilderness completely, he traveled far enough inland to see the resemblance to his own American desert. He was enthralled, and set about writing a great Australian frontier epic. The story revolves around the attempt by Australian cattlemen-drovers, aided by American cowboys Sterl Hazelton and Red Krehl, to drive a huge herd of cattle across the northern desert to the Kimberley Mountains, where gold had been discovered and beef was in short supply.
