A sparkling, lovely compilation of Judy's most popular songs, circa 1972. I love them all but the standouts are the lyrical "Since You Asked" (which I've always considered a wedding song), the brooding, meditative "Both Sides, Now," the poetic "Suzanne," the sweet, poignantly autobiographic "My Father," and the extraordinary, orchestral "Albatross."
Some are composed by the iconic likes of Joni Mitchell ("Both Sides, Now") and Leonard Cohen "Suzanne"), some by Collins herself, but all are memorable for the beauty of their literate lyrics, powerful musical arrangements, and most of all for the warmth and delicate clarity of Judy's lilting soprano.
This is an old recording by Collins with some of my favourite songs. 'Both Sides Now' and 'Someday Soon' are two of them. Great for easy listening.
