Saroyan writes with our heartbeat, explaining what it is to be an immigrant without writing from some distant self-conscious place. These stories are full of warmth and humour and humanity.
This was my first time reading Saroyan. I will read more.
I first read this book around 1955 as a grammar school student and loved it. When it began to vanish I bought it used and read it many more times as an adult. My Name is Aram is a fine book for youngsters and adults to enjoy and read again, as I've done.
