This is a great book full of wisdom and practical implementation. Its big drawback is that it is wordy. I recommend just reading the first and last sentences of each paragraph. From time to time, you will find yourself reading everything because it is genuinely interesting, but you will be successful in understanding everything the author is trying to communicate with this scanning technique.

A new and revised version of an older classic title in self-improvement. Very detailed and includes lots of real life stories and examples!

Very inspiring and I do appreciate that the author knows that the entire system is a work in progress. Has definitely given me a helpful approach to being more effective. Would recommend! My only complaint about this book is sometimes it reads more like a textbook and it took me quite a while to really "get into it" where I didn't want to put it down.

I'm skeptical of the self-help genre, which I admit likely poisoned my opinion of this one.

I picked it up hearing it was a classic and a book that would change my life. What it turned out to be instead was a wordy argument to advocate how the Protestant work ethic will solve all of our problems.

The author does have a lot of wisdom, don't get me wrong. Most of the points he touches on are common sense though with few original insights to be gained throughout 372 pages.

This version of The 7 Habits was the first of many, many iterations that Stephen Covey published under the 7 Habits umbrella. No doubt due to the success of the franchise. As a self-help reader I can vouch for the worth of the original though I have not read any of the others.

It's too easy to scoff at the habits as obvious, just as it's too easy to scoff at self-help in general. Actions speak louder than words, and putting habits like Covey's into practice is hard work. If you're curious about self-help, or maybe a little skeptical about its usefulness, then I recommend starting here.

Fantastic book! I waited far too long to finally read it. It's an essential foundation for anyone to live a life of purpose, but especially those who are interested in leadership of any sort (management, parenting, etc.). I will be rereading many times.

If you're debating whether to read this or not, I've got to say that it's totally worth it. Stephen Covey boiled down the essence of great leadership--and life in general--into 7 solid, easy-to-understand principles that anyone can apply. Could not recommend this more highly!
