I'm not really into the Pixar movies and this definitely explains why. The storyline was too weird for me. If this movie had been around when I was a kid, perhaps I would have enjoyed it more. As an adult, I did not.

Surprisingly good! Enough fun stuff for the kiddos AND does a very good job of explaining how the brain works at making, storing, and changing memories as they are influenced by emotions. Highly recommended!

This movie does a FANTASTIC job of showing how emotions and memory work together.

A solid entry from Pixar that'll help kids develop emotional intelligence. One of the better later films from the studio.

I've liked some animated films, I've fallen hard for a just a few (Pinocchio), but this one is a revelation. As an individual who has always stated that we would all do better if we reached back and remembered some of our childhood innocence and dreams, before we became harsh and embittered or "adult", this is the perfect representation of my view. Watching a youth's psyche literally maturing is actually a heartbreaking thing. Where the picture is mostly focused on just this, the idea may not seem like an incredible plotline, by far, but there's enough happening here to make you forget that fact. One of the best animated films ever.

I love how the movie talks about how emotions are and even helped me in my life and the movie is great for everyone in the family.

Notice that there are just a bunch of feelings in there, fighting it out for supremacy. There isn't any ego or soul that referees or sets goals or anything like that. This is remarkably similar to what we learn from modern brain science, e.g., "How the Mind Works," by Pinker. I'm surprised the religious commenters haven't picked up on this. How are they going to roast you in hell properly, if there's nobody in there who's responsible?

A really solid movie overall. I love how it plays with the 4th wall.

Now ponder this. What if feelings had feelings?

At first I didn't like this movie because it wasn't easy. But now it's one of my favorites, and perhaps the animated movie that I value most. It's really quite beautiful and humorous, sad and joyous, and very rewarding.

Who’s your friend who loves to play?! Bing-Bong... 😭

Emotional diversity is so important and I'm so glad a mainstream children's film addressed it (and addressed it well!).

Pixar does a fantastic job mixing emotions together in this movie voiced by lots of hilarious former SNL cast members.

First toys had feelings, then cars had feelings, & now feelings have feelings: Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger and Disgust to be exact. We journey into the minds of our characters to explore the reasons for their behaviours and reactions. The best example of this mental metaphor is demonstrated in the closing credits within the mind of a cat. Some people may object to the gender stereotypes in the film, but stereotypes don't exist because of this film, they generally mirror the broad general behaviour of society; hence, the perfect stereotypical cat in the closing credit sequence.

Inside Out is a very creative and unique movie! I love Disney’s idea of making the character the emotions inside everyone, which made this movie more personal and relatable. The character dynamics are hilarious, and so cleverly personified. The movie was funny, adventurous, quirky, and, overall, very enjoyable! There are many important messages within the story, such as how it touches upon growing up, making memories, and dealing with feelings, all in a fun and entertaining way. I would definitely recommend this movie to other viewers, as it was funny, clever, and engaging! It has something for everyone, which makes it ideal for families to watch together! 3/5 @PenelopeScriptor of the Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board

Inside Out is an amazing movie! It is about a girl named Riley, she is a happy, hockey-loving 11-year-old Midwestern girl, but her world turns upside-down when she and her parents move to San Francisco. Riley's emotions -- led by Joy -- try to guide her through this difficult, life-changing event. However, the stress of the move brings Sadness to the forefront. When Joy and Sadness are inadvertently swept into the far reaches of Riley's mind, the only emotions left in Headquarters are Anger, Fear and Disgust. This movie was an absolute triumph. My favourite character would have to be Joy because she is always happy and caring. This was one of the best disney that you can relate to of all times. I loved the movie. My favourite part would be each of the times they talked about Bing Bong. Who’s the friend who likes to play? Bing Bong, Bing Bong :( I would recommend this movie to people of all ages because I know that it doesn't matter how old or young you are, you will love it. Overall, this is an absolutely fabulous movie that takes you one an emotional roller coaster...literally. 5/5. @TheBookWorm of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

Inside out is a Disney movie about what the emotions are doing in a pre-teens mind. The girls name is Riley and she is a happy, hockey-loving 11-year-old Midwestern girl. However, her world turns around completely when she and her parents move to sunny San Francisco, California. Riley's emotions are led by her lead emotion Joy. Joy tries to guide her through this difficult, life-changing event. The changes, the pressure and the stress of the moving forces Sadness to the forefront. Because Joy and Sadness could not get along, they end up in the far reaches of Riley's mind. This is definitely one of my all time favourite children’s movies because the story is set up for kids and has a deep, meaningful message. The movie teaches children what is most important in life while keeping everyone in the audience entertained. The movie was obviously well thought out and it definitely shows. I do feel that this movie went under appreciated and deserved more credit when it came out. That is why i would recommend this movie to everyone. Overall, I would rate this movie five out of five stars. @Sapphirereads of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

Such a beautiful story. Very deep for a children's movie. There were so many moments sprinkled in that only adults would understand and I loved that. I might have to buy a copy of this movie for myself!

The story of Riley's emotions struggling with growing up is - in classic Pixar tradition - funny, thoughtful, and touching. The music is also beautiful.

I liked it. I am a 55 year old man and I haven't seen a Disney movie in decades.
I would say that it is classic Disney.

I was impressed by some of the animation, like the little girls hair. At times it looks real.
