"In the Mood for Love" -- exquisitely crafted film paying homage to Shanghainese society in Hong Kong in the early 1960's, reflecting the author's childhood -- hypnotic music -- a movie of moments strung together -- unusual camera angles…

You have to be patient with this film. Yes its pace is on the lazy side, but that works to the story's advantage. It is reminiscent of many of Jim Jarmusch's pictures; in a good way. The cinematography is incredible, as are the simple…

An excellent drama but slow! The cinematography and the acting of lead actor Tony Leung/lead actress Maggie Cheung makes this 1 of the top Hong Kong films.

A heartbreaking but beautifully shot movie about two people discovering their significant other's infidelity. While slow, it is worth a watch as each scene looks like a painting. I loved the soundtrack with the gorgeous costume design!

I'm generally a fan of art-house films... But honestly, this movie was just really boring. Many of the scenes are like 10 minutes long where the camera just pans back and forth with little dialogue.

Not too crazy about the slow pace BUT works wonderfully in showing the tantalizing chemistry between two lonely neighbors: maddening close in physical space - will they or won't they. The visual centered around Maggie Cheung, form fitted…
I must have seen this film before but need to watch it again to comment --- just voted to be the second place greatest film in the 21st century behind Mulholland Drive by the pundits polled by BBC this past week:

topped my ten best list of movies of the 2000's. Poignant, melodic, and visually striking, a must see. This atmospheric, stylish film was hands down the decade’s best.
An achingly beautiful movie from a wonderful director and top notch actors. Highly recommended if you're wiling to let yourself be absorbed into the atmosphere and music of the film. If you want Hollywood, linear storylines, and a clear…

This is a movie where a lot of important developments are told in vignettes, colors and musical pieces. Its not a movie that is straightforward and many might find it boring. Don't watch unless you're willing to let your self be engrossed…
