This was disappointing. I was hoping it would be one of my favourites but I didn't like most of the characters and the plot dragged.

I heard this author write mostly romance novels but this wasn't cheesy romance at all. I was really surprised by how much I liked it.

This was written in a really cool format. There were some tropes I didn't like but the writing was pretty good.

I liked the topic of the book and learned something, since I'd never heard of the Tuskegee airmen before. The "verse" wasn't really verse though so the actual writing wasn't that great.

This was well-written and intriguing. However, I frequently got frustrated with the characters and tired of the extra metaphors.

The very beginning and the ending were the best parts of this book. It was a more unique horror novel (from what I've seen) but it just wasn't extraordinary enough to boost the rating.

I liked the majority of this book. It was suspenseful and well-paced. Sometimes the writing was awkward but it didn't really prevent me from enjoying it. That being said, the ending was really underwhelming and I'm disappointed with how this ended.

This was too sort for me to really connect to the characters, although it was a middle grade novel so I'm not entirely surprised. It was still cute and left off on an unfinished note, so I wonder if the author maybe has a third book in the works?

I really enjoyed this coming of age story. Every character was fleshed out. I'd feel some way and then they'd reveal some backstory and I'd change my opinion. It was slow and meandering so if you prefer your books with a healthy dose of action, this is not for you.I really enjoyed this coming of age story. Every character was fleshed out. Full disclosure: I've never read Les Mis. What I have done is watch the musical probably more times than is necessary. So I really liked this book. It was nice seeing all the characters again (apparently today is Nostalgia Day), even if some people who have read the book because they are smarter and more worldly than I thought they weren't true to the original. I enjoyed it but it was long and heavy and it took me forever to read it. If it hadn't been for that, easily could have been four stars. It also probably didn't help that it was a reread and I've seen the first season of the show.
