I should not have picked up this book. I really detest story lines about misogynistic sadism. Just didn't realize from the blurb exactly how central that was to this story. Maybe that also impacted my dislike of virtually all of the characters, even the supposed heroine.I should not have picked up this book. I really detest story lines about misogynistic sadism. Leonhardt is way more optimistic than I. I find it hard to believe that a coalition grassroots movement could change the huge advantages of the 1% and regain some power for the working and middle class.

I really am enjoying this series! It's pleasant to read a crime mystery that is also a "feel good" story. I'll be reading more of it.

This was a tough read. I generally avoid dystopian literature, but decided to give this one a shot because it sounded mysterious. In the end it was too mysterious!

I picked up this book because the author is the father of my son's friend. It's a classic noir crime story, which is not my cup of tea, but it was very readable and the local setting was spot-on.

This was a great read, and I hope for more from this team. I appreciate the "kinder, gentler" Scandinavian noir where no one is tortured or buried alive. Highly recommend.

I really loved Arsenic and Adobo, missed the next two in the series, and found Murder and Mamon to be very formulaic. It was so upbeat and bouncy, that it hardly seemed to matter that someone was murdered. Finding the murderer was a slow slog, and we were made to feel sorry for them in the end. Also, everybody in the book ate constantly, to be point of being humanly impossible. Would not recommend.I really loved Arsenic and Adobo, missed the next two in the series, and found Murder and Mamon to be very formulaic.
