Add a Commentcan't wait for the next books!!!!!! They are so much better the the mortal instruments, that series just drags on and on.
I luv Infernal devices ... Jem is betta then Will and series better than Mortal instruments... TEAM JEM!!!!!!
Book two did not have as much action as book one as the focus was placed more on the love triangle between Jem, Tessa and Will. I still find the universe of these novels fascinating and Shadowhunters very interesting and unique creatures. I sped through this book and will read the next in the series but I'm not enamoured enough to go on and read the other series by the same author. These books are not my favourite of their kind but they are a good diversion from reality, and often that is enough.
Prefer the present day to these semi-Victorian steampunk ones.
A lot of fun to read. I actually like this series more than the Mortal Instruments, although I do like how all of the characters tie in.
A fun read. Love Will. Can't believe Jem has her. But thats okay. It is an interesting and action packed book, with romance. HA
Amazing, book, as usual. A lot of people hate love triangles. I love them, as long as they're used properly. In Clockwork Prince, Cassandra Clare didn't make a triangle just because it would sell (book that did triangle perfectly: The Hollow, Cynthia Hand). I almost wouldn't call it a love triangle. The plot was lacking, I found, but I can just tell the third book will be way more intense. I love all the characters enough, but no one really stood out to me. I am so happy that we got to see that "other side" of Jem! Will's curse was disappointing, and I hope he stays relatively the same with the same personality except for pushing everyone away.
What is it with Cassandra Clare that makes her write stories with such tragic and complicated plot twists? I want Tessa with Will - from the beginning, I've wanted that. But I think this is the first time I truly liked the "other guy" because Jem is a sweetheart and I can't bear to NOT like him. And I don't even mind if he kisses Tessa and stuff, because again, I really like him. I just want her with Will. And Cassie has a way of writing in plot twists that just make her stories so sad but amazing! It broke my heart - even more than anything Jace and Clary went through (probably because I sort of you knew what the outcome was going to be) - when i had to read what Will had to go through. All by himself as well. And when he was so happy to think he didn't have to go through it anymore, he found he was too late. I mean...that's just CRUEL. Now I'm actually very curious to see how he would act in the next book with these new circumstances... That being said, I don't think Tessa deserves EITHER one of the guys, since she never even admitted she LOVED Jem - only that she COULD love him. And that's not the same. I can't wait for the next book!
what an emotional rollercoaster! its also one of the only books that have genuinely made me laugh out loud while reading (will's jokes).
I wish the library had more copies of the series, so the wait wouldn't have to be so long
