Very imaginative and plausible portrayal of how William Shakespeare's creative process might have worked. Also very funny. And enlightening about the general condition of life in London before the Interregnum. Dialogue is really…

Was it a good movie? Yes it was. Great? Meh. Was it rewatchable? No. Did it have historical inaccuracies? A glaring lot. Did Weinstein interference cost Saving Private Ryan an Oscar? H, E Double matchsticks yes!

This is a family favorite that we project onto the big screen. Great, clever screenplay and well-cast. If you don't like true love, triumph and witty comedy this movie is not for you. :) Otherwise, relax, get some popcorn and prepare…

Really liked it many years ago so decided to rewatch, but felt it was overacted and a bit “corny”.

The title says it: this is a story of a writer's-blocked Shakespeare falling in love with a woman who might have the power to become his new muse, if only there weren't so many complications...This one was a classic I had never seen, and…

Occasionally, and by turns, strange and inspired. Decent romantic comedy, but with an added touch. Ben Affleck is great playing an egotistical star: possibly the best thing he's ever done.

Very good film, as if in Shakespearean times, except for the music, which is modern and almost constantly playing in the background. If the music was removed, I'd give it 5/5.

Sweet, passionate, sad and funny. Great acting! It was nice to see a young Gwyneth Paltrow with Joseph Fiennes. And Ben Affleck too, omg. A wonderful Shakespearean film!

Well acted and well done. That being said, I can't see it as a Best Picture. Entertaining, but slow at times. Great cast: Paltrow, Fiennes, Dench, Rush, Firth & Wilkinson are all top notch.

Quite enjoyable - except the way Gwyneth Paltrow looked when playing Tom Kent with the little red/brown mustache, etc. was annoying.

I'm glad I didn't live during that period. Men drawing swords for anything that didn't appeal to them and women marrying because it was their duty and the Queen said so? Give me a break. I've seen Judy Dench in other movies and she was a…

Charming and cleverly written movie about Shakespeare's need to be in love to write his masterpieces. A real treat to see youthful Paltrow, Fiennes (Joseph, not Ralph), Affleck, Firth, with a great performance by Judy Dench.
